Funding Circle: Grantees
Arts Rising has funded in three areas:
- Community Development – of marginalized communities
- Social Action – focus on environmental and social crises
- Dialogue – focus on bridging the divide among religious, ethnic and racial divisions.
Funding criteria include:
- Participatory Arts – includes community in art-making process
- Artistic Quality – work is artistically powerful
- High Level of Impact – reaches many people and affects people deeply
- Promote Positive Values – embodied in process and outcomes
- Donation is Meaningful – organizational annual budget is under $700,000 and the size and timing of the donation from us matters
Grant-making:
Grants have ranged from $2,000-$20,000 with a priority for larger grants given to infrastructure projects that provide resources for the field.
